• I have installed WP and used theme Twenty Seventeen. Evertything is working oke but in the header of my website I inserted an animation (drone footage forest). On my desktop and tablet it functions well but it is not visable on my mobile. I tried to figger out what could be the reason but I really don’t know. Hopefully someone can help me.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • The reason is that the WordPress feature you used for this only embeds the video on non-mobile devices via JavaScript. On mobile devices, this is probably not done out of consideration for the smaller display and the energy consumption. Therefore you see the actual header image (a static image) instead of the video.

If you want to have the video there on mobile devices as well, you would have to choose a different way. E.g. by adapting the header template via child theme.

Thanks for your rapid reaction. I checked my iphone and javascript is enabled. So Javascript is probably not the reason. You suggest adapting a header template via child theme. How should I do that? I tried to find it on the internet but there you can only find general information. Further I have downloaded a plugin named “Child Theme Configurator” but no additional features appear.

Everything about child themes is here:
    https://developer.www.ads-software.com/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/

Additional plugins are not necessary for this.

If you need support for this, you can find someone here: https://jobs.wordpress.net
