annoyed save on adv. edit page 1.1b

Ok, so you make a post and it’s status is published, it’s showing on your blog but you want to edit a typo. If you go to edit that post and don’t push publish again, if you push save, the post’s status is reset to draft or something. It doesn’t show up in my drafts or on my blog page to read. It’s on the edit page though. When I select that post to edit it again, with the advanced edit options showing, there is no status selected for post status.
Is this behavior going to be normal or is this just acting buggy? Or did I just manage to be confusing?
