    Hey there,
How can I turn off annoying notifications in main menu?
Should I block updates or there exists some hook for functions.php that I will never get irritation by your plugin in future?

    Hi,

We apologize if you are finding the notifications from the Yoast SEO plugin helpful or of use.

Are you using v14.9 of the Yoast SEO for WordPress plugin?

If you would like to hide the notifications, you can go to your WP admin dashboard > SEO (sidebar) > General > Dashboard Tab > and click on the ‘eye logo with a slash’ next to the relevant notification and it should move it to the hidden notifications.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.
    I understand this soultion.
But you place in every new version some annoying notification as red dot in main menu.
Is it possible to block it once and if I will be interested in your notifications, next time I just will take a look to the daskboard?

    Hi @ontario777,

As we think it’s important to keep you posted on the changes in the plugin, you can’t “hide forever” like you’re suggesting.

You can simply consider the notification our friendly reminder to keep yourself updated.

However, if you really wish to hide this forever, you can use the following filter:
    add_filter( 'wpseo_update_notice_content', '__return_null' );

Thanks! This is exact what we need.
Otherwise as a webmaster I read the notice once on the first web but after I see it once again on 20+ webs…

But it would be better if you will add this feature as an option in General settings.

    Up!

This fix does not work any more..
