• Hi everybody! Few weeks ago I was trying to add a top bar menu (and I managed), but have obviously done something wrong. Please, have a look here: motherssurvivalguide.com

Under the top menu ‘how I weaned my toddler’ (dropdown) and ‘Let’s make friends’ there is ANOTHER menu! And I have no clue where it came from and how to delete it.

    Please, help!

PS There’s only ONE menu created and assigned to the topbar, there is absolutely nothing else there!

    Using Child Hueman

  • Hi motherssurvivalguide. That appears to be a menu that exists outside the normal theme structure. Do you have any plugins that are generating menus? Or was a menu inserted manually into the header.php file?

Hi bdbrown! Yes, probably it was inserted manually trying to actually make one there. But I managed to do what I wanted inside the theme functionality and probably something was left in header.php

How can I disable it? I have no clue in coding…
Do I copy paste my header.php here?

I’d be glad to take a look at it. A better option for a large block of code like that is to use pastebin. Copy the code there. Then, when you save it there, copy the url that pastebin generates in the browser and paste it here.

I assume I have done everything right: https://pastebin.com/embed_js.php?i=uvK5jVAu
Thank you so very much for your time!

Yep, that worked. You mentioned it was “inserted manually” but I don’t see the menu container in the code that you posted. Is that code from the header.php file in your child theme, or do you have another copy of header.php in your child theme?

I have just browsed through the files again and there are only three in

    motherssurvivalguide.com / web / wp-content / themes / hueman-child-master /
    functions.php
    screenshot
    style.css

So I took the header.php from here:

    motherssurvivalguide.com / web / wp-content / themes / hueman

ok, something is not quite right. That’s the default header file from the theme, but it doesn’t include the code that’s being used to generate the menu you see on the web page. Can you perhaps outline the sequence of events that occurred when trying to create the topbar menu? I’m most interested to know what was done when “probably it was inserted manually”. Thanks.

I have found a few other articles on how to do what I wanted to do and changed the files. I assume I have to hand the login data to a webmaster to fix this now… I am sorry, I can’t even answer your questions… I though, I would learn.. But I messed it up instead… Thanks anyway!

I didn’t see a contact form on your site. If you want to put one up I’ll send you my contact info. I’d be glad to help you offline, no cost to you.
