• Since the last update this plugin has introduced an annoying popup notice.

    I can’t get rid of it. Please remove this asap.

  • Couldn’t agree more. By all means, include adverts if it helps support the plugin, but the message should only be displayed to administrators and should be permanently dismissable.

    Get it fixed!

    I just tested and was not able to replicate the issue. You should be able to remove the notification by clicking the dismiss and it should not return. We will keep testing and respond back with any questions so we can resolve this quickly. Sorry about any inconvenience.

    I just updated several of my clients sites with the latest Custom Sidebar plugin version and ever since, that popup is constant and NOT dismissable. I had to downgrade back to the earlier version due to my client’s complaints of unwanted visible advertising.

    This needs fixing.

    I found the solution: Disable your ad blockers.

    The developer named the pop-up “advertisement” and so the communication for setting the cookie.

    But non the less: please remove the pop-up! This is a bad practise and will annoy many of your users. Just remove it. Not professional plugin developer should use this kind of things.

    Thank you @marcdk. I will pass this feedback on to the development team. We recently removed all limitations from Custom Sidebars and placed 2 ads that were meant to be less obtrusive than they have become. One is meant to be dismissible and the other moves out of view as the plugin is used. We are working to get this right so thank you for your patience and the feedback.

    The pop up cannot be removed. I clicked on the scan link just for kicks, it got stuck at 67%.
    At least if you’re going to make mandatory pop up, make sure the link works.

    Same here, this popup is unwelcomed and when we have other users accessing the website, this is an unneeded headache. Remove this immediately, it’s not appropriate!

    @perkedel

    It’s not a mandatory popup, as detailed above it seems to be a browser’s ad blocker prevent the close from happening.

    If you wish to contact us about the WP Checkup freezing issue we’ll be more than happy to look into that.

    @kaotik

    It won’t be viewable for other users, only the admin role should be able to see it. It should and will be dismissable.

    A fix will be out shortly, you will then be able to dismiss it so that it won’t come back.

    Update: Thank you for the feedback and patience yesterday. The banner ad is now dismissible. Sorry for any frustration this caused.
