Another PayMent Gateway

I have successfully setup easy digital downloads on my client’s website which is providing Downloadable Embroidery Designs. My client is already using ATOM Payment gateway and he now wants to implement ATOM gateway(Indian Payment gateway) into this downloadable product.

Is it possible to implement custom payment gateway inside this existing Easy digital downloads plugin? If yes, please guide me, I would really appreciate it.
