Another Status (Soccer)

  • Hi

    How can I add another Status for a player in the scorecard when setting up a match fixture?

    For example, there currently is two setup; Starting Lineup and Substitute. I’d like to add another custom option in that dropdown box.

    Is this something I can do from within Sportspress?

    Can you please provide me the instructions on how this can be achieved?

    This is certainly possible but requires more custom code than we can provide unfortunately. You’d need to edit the plugin files in order to achieve that

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

    The reason I asked the above question is because I believe there is a coding flaw in the plugin.

    When you select the players to add them to a fixture / match and click update, the sp_players meta values are added to the postmeta table in the database with all of the player data.

    However, if you’ve accidently added a player and decide to remove them, the meta value for that player remains in the sp_players meta values – not effectively removing that code.

    I am working on a reward plugin which rewards players for starting a game (Starting Lineup status) but that status gets given to everyone that is added to a fixture automatically.

    Thus, my rewards plugin cannot figure out, when a player has been ‘unchecked’ and the fixture is updated to remove them from the scorecard, who is actually starting a game due to the meta values in the postmeta table not being updated to reflect the change.

    Does this make sense?
