Another suggestion: Display books by tag

If you just want to show one specific tag you can use the following URL:
https://yoursite.com/book-tag/whatever-tag

The same is true for a series or genre.

If you look at a book page with a tag, you’ll see the tag is a link. When you click on a tag (or series or genre) link, you’ll be brought to the grid for it. This saves you from having to make a Book Grid for each individual tag, genre, or series.

Admittedly it’s not really documented within the plugin itself (unless you play around with clicking the links on the page) so I need to do a better job of that.

Now, if you wanted to filter on multiple series or genres, that does require creating a Book Grid. And adding a filter for tag is a great idea (an oversight on my part!) and will definitely be in a future update. Possibly a filter on publisher as well.

Perhaps adding a “Group by Tag” option as well.

Yes, I was already aware of the default “tag page” option, but of course it doesn’t have the same flexibility of a book display page, and with the tag page there isn’t the opportunity to do an intro summary etc before the listing of the books.

LOVE the idea of “Group by Tag” as well. Makes it just like the other options for series and genre.

A filter on Publisher would also be a welcome addition. And Author too if it can be managed with the extra addition and plugin you are working on.

So you are talking about displaying additional information on the book grid page? I am considering plans for that in the future, but nothing is concrete yet.

Yes, not so much what’s included in the book grid itself (although what you’re planning for that is excellent, by the way), but the ability to do a writeup before the book grid is displayed, such as on https://soulinspirationz.com/indie-small-press-novels/

With a default book tag results page there isn’t the ability to do any kind of intro at the top of the page, as it’s simply a search results page, and sorted by default.
