Anti-Spam, Does anything actually work??

Must have tried six different anti-spam plugins, nothing works. with our other vbulletin forum, stopforumspam works great but nothing even close to that so far with wordpress.

is this a dirty little secret with WordPress that no anti-spam can actually do the job?

Would love to hear from someone that knows of something that actually works.
