• I was disappointed to discover that the Anti-Spam by CleanTalk WordPress plugin operates on a ‘14-day trial’ basis, and this detail was not immediately clear at the outset. Leading up to the end of this “trial period”, I received an email styled like an invoice, coupled with a persistent notification on the WP Dashboard urging me to upgrade. The upgrade prompt directs you to a payment page presenting a fee of $87.48, but lacks straightforward options to decline or discontinue the service. Furthermore, the email subject line—’This Email is About Donuts and Coffee’—felt misleading and contributed to an overall impression of questionable marketing tactics. Ultimately, I chose to uninstall and delete the plugin, as it did not justify the asking price and didn’t like their aggressive marketing tactics and dashboard/email spamming me to upgrade.
