Then stick with 2.0.x I think the most recent is 2.0.9 – but you’d have to look to be sure.

Save your current wp-config.php file. Upload all the new files, and then upload your current wp-config. php file. It’ll have the same settings, so no need to change anything. Just upgrade.

Of course, you also need to take the usual precautions – be sure to back up your wp-content/themes and wp-content/plugins folders, ant image folders you want to keep, backup your database, blah blah blah.

I have successfully upgraded WordPress with NO problems. I followed the upgrade instructions and it took me less than 10 minutes to complete. After upgrading, the Akismet plugin accepted my API key and activated with no problems. It even immediately picked up 380 spam messages.

I cannot figure out how to upload Akismet and get functionality from it. I don’t see anywhere that it is active, and it certainly is not catching any spam. When I try to upload it, wp replies that is is already uploaded. Where do I look? What am I looking for?

I am also trying to get to the bottom of my comments awaiting moderation (2618 today!) and cannot. Any ideas how?
