Antispam settings show X through all of the protected items

on a new install of Antispam, shows synced and I have forms and all the things I want turned on but all show X’d out in settings…so is it on or off or broken?
edit: so i tried s @ cleantalk.org without spaces in a form as suggested, and it shows forbidden. So it’s working, but it does not show happy green checks. what is the remedy to know what is active? I’ve refreshed, logged out and in and reinstalled…
