    Hi,

I tried your plugin and I find it very easy to use and very simple. I would love to have it but due to the GDPR regulation, as far as I have understood it cannot work the way it does.

The plugin has an option to avoid automatic translation, which is great, so the user has to click on the flag to translate the page. The problems are:

    – the plugin sets a cookie
    – Information is shared with Google outside the EU and users are not informed of this. In these cases, the consent of the users has to be “informed” so they shall be provided with a list of information that Google collects and that they are processed outside the EU, with a link to the privacy policy of Google.

The ideal would be to have greyed out icons with a popup informing the user and asking him to give consent to translate the page, with the list of collected information (I guess at least the IP address) and a link to the privacy policy.

    Any help/suggestion?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

I believe that GTranslate is completely GDPR compliant, please do your own homework or seek legal advice if you are in doubt.

You will need to notify your website visitors about the cookies and which services your website uses. We do not set tracking cookies.

    Thanks! ??
