• Any plugin out there, or application I can use to do the following:

I want to have an image, or a link on a page, that once clicked, pops up a window where I can have text and more details about the topic.

Something similar to a thumbnail popup, but it doesn’t give me the image larger, just a window with written content

  • This one sounds like just what you want, no?

I thought that plugin was what I needed, but all it did was essentially give me a window that opens into another page, the same as if I had just provided a link that opened in a new window.

I’m looking for something similar to where, for example, there was a picture on my main page, and when you click on it, it pops up a window similar to how Facebook photos are now. The main page gets dark and the window opens and then clicking the X brings you right back to the main page you were on. Only instead of clicking a photo and having that same photo enlarged on the pop-up, it would take you to a box with written content.

Not sure if this makes sense or not? I wish I could find an example.

Oh, I got what you mean now. PlatinumPopup does what you want.

With PlatinumPopup, you create the popup, whose content can be anything you want, and then in your WordPress post, you do [ppopup id=”33″]link text[/ppopup].
