any timthumb alternatives that won't conflict with a CDN?
-
– JordanRivas.com
– Using a theme called inFocus
– Theme uses timthumb (thumb.php)
– Recently tried moving theme and media files to a CDN (Amazon S3) and mostly everything went great w/W3 Total Cache — except for the thumbnails and post images on the homepage (I use a blog view for my homepage, not the theme’s default slider page)
From what I understand after searching and reading timthumb simply isn’t going to play nice with Amazon S3 or any CDN because, inherently, the PHP is dynamic content and thus not compatible with the idea of hosting static content via a CDN.
So what I’m asking is: are there any options that I can use that will work with my theme and a CDN?
I’ve certainly looked for other themes, but any of the ones I like all seem to use timthumb (if it’s so lame, why does everyone use it?)
I’d love to use Justin Tadlock’s Get The Image plugin, or something similar, but it seems my theme (and others I’ve tried) are all dependent on timthumb.
What are the options for image resizing/thumbnail solutions when using a CDN?
