• Hi,

Thank you for sharing your work.

I’m trying to use WDS Simple Page Builder in a new project and I realised the Github repo is one version ahead.

I was wondering if an update of this plugin is to be expected or the project was abandoned?

    Thanks.

I haven’t seen or heard of any plans to resume any sort of work on it, so while not officially abandoned, at the same time it kind of is.

I’d say use the GitHub copy for the time being, and feel free to modify as needed for your purposes and intents.

Sorry to hear that. I’ll try the Github version.

Can it somehow be affected in near future versions of WordPress?

I know Gutenberg will definitely change something, but I was thinking of WDS as an alternative.

Gutenberg, at this point, would definitely be a factor going forward. However we haven’t put much focus on this regardless of that. Without giving out too much, we don’t use this internally either from what I’ve heard, as we have other setups in place instead. This plugin was likely a case of it’s something we tried for some project, and decided to release publicly as well.

OK. I love the idea of building a custom page using pre-made and reusable template parts. But I can’t seem to make it work. For whatever reason, WDSPB doesn’t load my custom template parts in the pagebuilder folder inside the child theme.

The 1.5 version did find the template parts, but had an error related to options.

The 1.6 Github version doesn’t load my template parts (though it loads the Posts example part from the plugin itself).

I guess there’s one more reason, adding to your above comments, to put it aside. It’s above my “dev” skills.

    Thanks again.

    Best,
