any update on themes.wordpress.net?

  • I’m wondering if https://themes.wordpress.net is an official wordpress theme gallery?

    If so, does anyone know what actually happened with the upcoming changes ( https://themes.wordpress.net/blog/4426/upcoming-changes).
    It was posted on December 11, 2007, too long ago, specially compared to other wordpress sites which are actively maintained.

    I tried to register a few months ago, following the instruction on the FAQ (sending an email to a yahoo.com address – weird), and I haven’t received any reply.

    Can any wordpress staff shed some light on this?
