I don’t want to post the link, but I will email it to matthias if he wants to see it. I am using this plugin with 100 domains mapped to 100 pages of a single WP site. I am still getting to grips with the advantages and disadvantages of doing this, but right now I’m feeling this is much simpler than making 100 single page multi-sites. Especially if i can use the same design templates for many of them. I can spin any particular one off into its own WP install if I really needed to later.

I see that if I map page.com to original.com/page, that original.com/page is still viewable. I have installed Yoast which automatically puts the common tag on the mapped domains. But I’m wondering what is the best way to redirect actual visitors away from original.com/page and towards original.com or maybe even page.com. I know it doesn’t really matter if these pages are viewable on original.com or not but I would prefer to hide them from public view all the same.

I have another question about how this plugin behaves with Elementor and ACF, but I want to make sure I understand the domain mapping first and the consequences of redirecting actual visitors as described above.

    hy,
as you may have already noticed, we were talking about such features like automatic redirection for a longer time. by now, the situation is still the same: this plugin is not our key focus since we are an agency working 99% on clients projects. so i can not give you an estimate when this feature will be included ??

but in the meantime you can use a redirection plugin like https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/redirection/ for that purpose.

    Thanks for that information matthias.

Also I feel like warning anyone else thinking of adding hundreds of domains using this or any plugin, LetsEncrypt has a limit of 100 domains per certificate. So if you add both “domain.com” and the variable subdomain “*.domain.com” to your WordPress app then you can only have 50 domains in total. Minus the domain for the site itself, that gives you a max of 49 additional domains fully mapped. There are premium certificates that offer higher limits but they can cost a lot.

So, the solution I think is to have multiple WordPress apps with this plugin each with no more than 49 additional domains, in order to use the one click free LetsEncrypt.
