Anyone care to test a couple of plugins for me?
I’ve got two that I did up, and both seem to work just fine on my several live and test blogs, but neither of them seem to be getting much play, so I thought I’d ask for a bit of testy help.

The first is a Moon Phase plugin, which can be found here:
    https://www.ryumaou.com/hoffman/netgeek/?page_id=1027

The second is rather more complicated and let’s a blogger use the Dale Reckoning/Forgotten Realms calendar, from the D&D setting:

If you like it, or have problems with it, please, leave a comment or two. I’ll check back here as often as I remember, but, well, age has not been kind to the old grey matter.

    Thanks!
Jim (aka RyuMaou aka Network Geek)

  • Excellent! I want to see if I can mod if for the word of greyhawk campain setting. If I can I’ll use it. I might jump back and ask questions if you don’t mind.

    thanks

It’ll take some work, but you should be able to mod it for your purpose. It took me weeks to get this coded, but that’s still better than when I did it for MovableType, which took months!

When you get it done, let me know so I can link to it, okay?
    Good luck!

Funny how much time we can spend working on having a little fun. I’m still chewing on a base theme for the site. After that I’ll look at moding and posting a link. Of course you’ll get credit for the mod since it’s really yours.

    thank jim

    Ha! True enough.
If you want to look at multiple moons, as I recall Greyhawk has, check out the Moonphase plugin, too. It should be easily modified for multiple moons with different phase cycles. I started to mess with that, but figured there was limited application outside my own interests.

Look forward to seeing your site!
    Thanks,
    Jim

I’ll look at this more closely when Im able. Right now Im taking a week off to visit with friends north of Denver.

    take care

I’ll definitely check out the moon phase plugin as I’ve been using a script I copied from NASA which changes as the moon phase does. I’ve also been working on a moon calendar plugin for many, many months now. I need to get back to it.
    Thanks, jim

I just want you to know that I now am convinced I am NOT ALONE out here…. just today I wanted a moon phase thingie; and of course, I’ve been an FR enthusiast since I first met Ed and started AD&D rpg in his world in the mid 70s.

Bless you! Can’t wait to get using these!

The Dale Reckoning plugin should be working okay. Documentation might be a little light, but, the basics ought to be there. If you have any questions, problems, etc. just pop a comment on the page and I’ll do what I can.

Think there’s enough interest to do a FR Moons Phase plugin? You know, to see the phase of both moons?
