• Hello, I posted this same question in another forum but I think I should have posted here, since I’ve gotten zero responses. Ooops!

I am building a website for leaders of boy and girl scouts to post the latest event information, den/troop/pack meetings, share pictures, and have a pack calendar that everyone can add to and edit. Here’s the website: https://www.scoutsonline.org/pack790

I need the calendar to do these things:
*have the ability to be updated by multiple users – I want all the leaders to be able to input their own group’s information and edit as necessary.
*Show a small calendar in the side bar – this is not completely necessary but I really like this option.
*Shows full screen calendar on a page. Similar to the ajax one that I have now, but fills the whole page, not just a column.
    *Full screen is easily printed
    *No amount of entry limits
*Mac and windows compatible – this would be very helpful for pack 790 as one of the leaders uses a mac.

I am hoping that someone who is very familiar with wordpress can help me find the perfect one, since there are so many to choose from and so far, none of the three I have tried have completely filled all my needs.

I don’t mind paying a bit for this if I need to, as long as once I pay, I can use it on multiple pages – I want to offer this free to any scouting groups that need it.

  • It’s been a while since you’ve posted this, but in case you’re still looking for a solution, here’s what I did for my scouting org and what I recommend:

Create a Google calendar and share it out to the leaders you will allow to update it. Use the Google Calendar Events plugin to display it on your WordPress site. If you don’t like the vanilla grid look and you know CSS (or someone who does) then you can style the calendar to give it the appearance you’d like.

You can even create separate Google calendars — one for the main organization and one for each sub-group. Google Calendar Events will let you pull all events from each calendar into a main calendar on your site, or display each calendar separately.

The only drawback is forcing leaders to have a Google account. Pshaw… I don’t see that as a bad thing at all.

    Good luck! ??
