• I have a static html blog (www.garagehangover.com) where I would manually add each post and date to the top of the page. Now that I plan to use WP, can I convert old posts to “dated” WP posts?

For example, how would I convert a manual posting from say, Sept. 22, 2006 so that it shows up in WP as being a post from that date?

  • If it’s a completely manual system and your static posts are just plain html, then I fear your only option is to
manually copy and paste each entry, and then adjust the timestamp on each one as you do it.

(Post Timestamp, in the right hand column next to your write post box : you might have to click the + to open up the box to see it, if you hadn’t noticed it lurking there).

    A bit of a pain, I know!

Thanks, I’m just glad to know I can adjust the time stamp.

Sorry I’m late to the game but this is not your only option. You can convert all your static HTML pages into the Import Movable Type format and import the entire file. The list of articles to guide you are listed here. It’s not easy, but I did it with over 1000 web pages. Better than copy and paste!
