  • Why do you want to use Word to write blog posts? o_O

    there are lots of reasons:
    1. it checks ur spelling, so u r 100% sure that everything is write, no spelling mistakes ??

    2. you can add images very easily and also special symbols ??

    3. posting from word is easy and quick.
    etc

    now plzz answer my questions.

Weblog_Client is where you want to look.

Presumably, the Word API wants to have a link to your xmlrpc.php file. Yours is http://www.mhashmi.com/xmlrpc.php

i didn’t understand at all. just tell me how can I post on my blog with the help of MS Word 2007 BETA, Thanks. It request the API to post, now where ca I find the API in the admin area.

    “just tell me how”

    gotta love that.

    “now plzz answer my questions.”

at least he said “please”, I think.

    ## time for a break.

    I.
    Just.
    Gave.
    You.
    A link.
    To YOUR API.

That’s what Word wants. To repeat: Yours is http://www.mhashmi.com/xmlrpc.php

buahaha, i guess im not alone ??

aah! when i log in to that link it says:

XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

Right Mazhar: You don’t ever go directly to that link. That’s not why it’s there.

That’s the link that Word will use to connect to your blog and “Post” your blog articles.

    Hi ??

You must use the API: MetaWebLog and
    BlogPost URL: https://www.yourdomain.com/wordpress/xmlrpc.php
In other words where your blog is installed on your server.
Use MS Word BETA as a Blogtool at your own risk cause it might
not work properly like posting with wrong dates etc.
MS Word BETA is NOT recommended.

Using Word just in general to write blog posts in not recommended. ??

I figured out how to fix the date problem. I changed it so the server will ignore the date given in the post data, and put in the current date. this is only for new posts, not current one. the current ones will keep the same date. You need to just copy this code and paste it over the xmlrpc.php file. https://files.dansweb.us/wpfix.txt

Does anyone know how to get it to upload images to photobucket or your own web host?

No clue on how to do it with (*shudder*) MS Word, but Windows Live Writer will upload images automagically for you. https://windowslivewriter.spaces.live.com/ (download link is in the upper left column)

Now with a plugin for blogthis for FF2.0, as well, and a whole bunch of other nifty plugins available; see the list at wlwplugins.com.
