Hi I have updated the plugin to the latest version and managed to get one post out that was added to my site this morning. There are two sections to this:

    – Whilst the post this morning did publish on Apple News it did not take the key/featured image with it, nor did it take any of the in-line images.

    – Also I cannot publish any pre-existing content in the list – when I click publish it gives me the following error message:

There has been an error with the API. Please make sure your API settings are correct and try again: The attachment Article-Header-Images_Coaching4Careers_Managing-Emotions_02.jpg could not be included in the request because it was empty.

The attachment mentioned in the error is the featured image in the post and did previously work when manually submitting the RSS feed to Apple News Publisher.

    Any help welcome!

  • OK so it turns out my host doesn’t use chunk transfer encoding. But cloud flare does. I’m going to fisablecloudflare caching and see if that helps

Disabling cloud flare makes no difference..

now getting the following error when trying to publish to apple news

Fatal error: Call to a member function can_be_anchor_target() on null in /var/sites/d/dujio.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/publish-to-apple-news/includes/apple-exporter/builders/class-components.php on line 430

this plugin really has me stumped – it seems so complicated :/ I wish Apple could make things easier for developers.

Disabling cloudflare actually did solve your problem since that error is unrelated to images. We’ve also had reports of cloudflare causing issues for other users due to the fact it uses chunked transfer encoding.

The “plugin” isn’t the issue but some content can have trouble publishing to Apple News if it contains incompatible components. Can you please provide the JSON file for the post that’s experiencing that error?

    Thanks.
