API Key Not Saving

I’ve created the API key on my Mailchimp account, I’ve installed the contact form 7 extension plugin. Gone to add the key, it brings up all my accounts list so all correct there. Just when saving it doesn’t apply. It goes from showing connected to the red cross to indicate it’s not.

I’ve enabled debugging and it’s not bringing any errors up, nor on submit in the console. This website is a multisite however. I’ve tested on sandbox and it was ok, just not on the live version that does have multisite. Not sure if this would cause an issue? Awaiting on admin access to this.
