API over HTTPS?

The Open States API is not accessible over https unfortunately. They are in the process of rolling the Open States API into the Open Civic Data project which will support https but it has been a slow process.

I will roll out a new plugin based on Open Civic Data once there is a stable version (currently in beta) but there is no timeline as to when that may happen.
