App Store Assistant fatal error

    I just updated the App Store Assistant to Version 6.2.1 and I am getting bad errors. The plugin is not even activating because it is saying I have a fatal error. I even tried reverting back to the older version and I am still getting the same fatal error below for everything:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class SimplePie in /home/codebox/public_html/moderngeekgirl.com/wp-content/plugins/app-store-assistant/includes/simplepie.inc on line 397

    It might be that you have another plugin that is using SimplePie. It is a codebase for reading RSS feeds.

    What version of WP are you using?

    Does that mean any plugins that use SimplePie cannot be shared with another plugin? And how do I know which ones use it? =(

    You can use multiple plugins that use SimplePie, but the developer needs to call it using the WordPress function rather than just adding it themselves. We use the WordPress call in App Store Assistant.

    What is the other plugin you use, that uses SimplePie?

    The usual way, although a bit old-school (but hey it works), is to disable plug-ins one by one and see when the issue stops. Maybe there is an update to that plug-in.

    Also, since WP now includes SimplePie, the next version of App store Assistant will no longer include a copy of it. That will stop the error from showing up, but if you have two plugins with the same problem, then it will still show the error.

    Version 6.3.1 no longer loads SimplePie separately. So it should work, even if another plug-in is loading SimplePie improperly.
