Apparent bug in Media and Text Block

  • Like most blocks, there is an “Advanced Setting” to add an additional class to the image – which would be very handy, as the block squishes the photos when resizing. (Yes, I know this is a well-known and horrific problem with all images blocks in Gutenberg). But when I add a class it does not appear when I inspect the code.

    Core Block Editor experience:
    -I added a custom css class to a media/text block in one of my test websites — I saw the classname when I inspected the element. (WP version 5.8.1)
    -I added a different class to the paragraph block in the text section. I saw the classname when I inspected the element.
    -I did not see a separate option to add a class to the image only area.
