I want my “blog post” page to look similar to the one in the demo, where it includes the blogs, a right sidebar and a comment section. The way mine looks now, the post shows on the blog post page, but there is no sidebar or comment section until you click on the specific blog post.

This is my first time setting up a web site and using WordPress, so this is all new to me. So far I’ve been able to figure out pretty much everything else I’ve wanted to do, but this one has me stumped.

    Thank you.

It sounds like your full blog posts are showing in the blog home page. If so, it means your blog posts need the “Read More” tag added. Does your posts have this in them to split them into a summary intro (with the Read More button)?

Also make sure that the Customizer Blog Options is set to the Large or Small Featured Image Right.

Do you have a link to where your site is?

O.K. I had the Blog Options set to Large Featured Left and when I changed it to Right the right sidebar appeared, so that took care of part of my problem.

I added the “read more” tag to my posts, but I don’t see the actual “read more” text appearing on the blog home page. How do I get that to
    appear?

I just started working on this yesterday, so it’s very much a work in progress (especially since I’m not really sure what I’m doing yet! LOL!), but I’ll go ahead and make the website live so that you can take a look. It’s https://www.mangoesmarleyandmermaids.com.

    Thank you!

    No worries ??

I just realized the blog is coded to use an Excerpt, so you will need to add more content to make it show up. Put the sample text you see below in one of your posts and then you will see it:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Integer eget pharetra nulla. Nam semper congue ipsum, eget consequat nunc. Sed venenatis egestas sagittis. In velit lectus, posuere vitae velit eu, pharetra maximus erat. Integer vitae orci non erat semper tristique eget aliquet tortor. Duis sollicitudin, odio vel ultrices iaculis, enim quam rutrum arcu, vitae rhoncus esta delore segret.`

Hmmm…tried that, but I’m still not seeing the “read more” text.

I just went to your site to see that post with the extra sample content, but don’t see it. Did you delete it?

Nope. It’s in the post called “And yet another test post”

Ah, that’s why. Put the extra above the Read More…or even delete the read more on the post.

Perfect! Thanks so much for your help. I’m sure I’ll have more questions as I struggle my way through this, but I’m pretty excited I’ve gotten as far as I have already!
