    Dear Woocommerce Team,

thank you for this great plugin. It works seamlessly on my shop, I have activated both Apple Pay and Google Pay on the product page and in the cart.

However, there is currently no legal compliance of that integration in Germany.
Here, all online shops need to display their customers the terms and conditions (in full text or as a link to your legal terms page) above the pay button. Mentioning those infos in the footer is below the pay button and therefore not compliant. For the normal checkout page (not using Mobile Payment, but Stripe Standard), I have used a third-party plugin, that integrates the necessary info’s in the checkout page.

However, if a customer uses Apple Pay / Google Pay to checkout directly on the product page or in the cart, the terms and conditions are missing.
Therefore, I am now trying to find a fix and would like to raise a feature request. I see two possible solutions:

    1) If the Google Pay / Apple Pay button shows up, a short textbox could be included just above that Pay Button (“By clicking on Pay with Apple/Google, I agree to the terms of conditions [link to the legal page of my shop]”).

    2) After clickling on the Pay Button, when the order overview screen from Apple/ Google shows up for review and authentication, another row “Legal Infos” could solve this as well. That could be placed under the “Contact Info” for example.

I am sure, a solution would boost the WooCommerce Stripe integration in Germany since literally every shop owner faces that problem (and non-compliance is heavily prosecuted and fined by competitors). There were already a few other users, that raised a similar request, but those cases were closed without a proper solution.

I can gladly share some screenshots if that helps.

    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hey Tim!

Thanks for reaching out – I appreciate the detail and context you’ve provided here.

This is known and expected – the terms are “missing” from the product page but when using the Payment Request buttons, it’s an express type checkout so that box is preselected for them.

If that is a liability for you because it was not explicitly checked by the customer, then the options would be to develop a custom solution to display this notice or alternatively so stop using the Payment Request buttons.

    Thanks,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
