Apple Podcast + Spotify Taking Longer than 48hrs to Show New Episodes

    Lately (last 2 weeks), my new uploaded podcast episodes are taking longer than 48hours to show up on iTunes Podcast, Spotify and Castbox. I’ve tried fixing it in the past and I am not sure if there is something wrong with my feed, I haven’t changed anything in the last 2 weeks.

    My issues is that my listeners are contacting me asking where my episodes are, and even though they are technically published, no one can see them.

    How can I have my podcast episodes upload within a couple hours to these podcast platforms like they used to?

    Hello @thegreenbelle,

    What you descibe, a 24-48 hour delay on syndication, sounds like it may be a caching issue with your web hosting. I did a quick look and I see your web host uses Nginx, which is great web server technology. Typically Nginx is setup with caching built-in, which means pages are cached for page loading performance. Because of this, you will need to clear this cache. Most web hosts that cache pages and feeds provide a mechanism to clear the site cache, sometimes it is built into your WordPress hosting,other times you need to go into a control panel to clear it. Our PowerPress Sites web hosting we provide our users a plugin that adds a link at the very top of the WordPress site to clear the cache at anytime.

    I would contact your web host next to find out how you can clear this cache.

    Hi there,

    I have WP Super Cache Plug-in and have used the “delete cache” following publishing a podcast episode on my website. I’m still finding a delay in comparison to the first few episodes I posted that updated on Apple Podcast within 3-4 hours.

    Is there something else that could be slowing this down?

    Is there any issue with my RSS feed?

    Spotify seems to be taking longer in general lately to update everyones listings after new episodes are published. There’s really nothing you can do to speed up that process.
