    Hi

We have had to disable ApplePay through the Braintree plugin as it is not charging shipping if the shipping calculator is not used. We can enable the plugin for testing if you want to see the issue.

Please advise how we resolve this issue.

  • Hi,

Can you provide a screenshot of the issue on your end, please?

I am assuming the configuration for Apple Pay was made according to the official documentation that is available below, correct?

    https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-gateway-paypal-powered-by-braintree/#support-apple-pay

To start checking into this, please provide a copy of your site’s System Status Report: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?

    Hi Igor

Thank you for coming back to us. Yes we have followed all of the steps in the documentation that you mentioned. Everything works apart from shipping not being billed if you don’t use the shipping calculator in the cart.

Anyway, so that we can test properly and work on a resolution we are currently cloning the site to create a staging server. It’s a very big site so will take a while to complete. I’ll message back here once we have everything ready and I’ll also paste our system status from staging too.

    Kind regards
    Darren

    Hi @darrenscully

This is well noted. Kindly update us how the testing goes and please do provide the following information below as well:

    • System Status Report that you can find via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.
    • Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

    Thanks!

    Hi

We have been testing on staging and it appears the issue we had with ApplePay/Shipping is similar to this ticket raised for the WooCommerce Payments and Strip plugins:

The Braintree plugin must still have the same problem. We have resolved our issue by resetting up how our shipping zones work and ApplePay now correctly takes payment for shipping but the bug is likely still present.

I’ll mark this ticket as resolved for us.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi @darrenscully ,

Thanks for investigating it further. The bug reports on Stripe and WooCommerce Payments are quite old and closed. Also, I do not see any similar report yet on the GitHub repository of the Braintree extension.

As a next step, we would like to reproduce the problem. To do that we will need:

    • The steps to reproduce the problem
    • Any particular address that triggers the problem

Depending on what we find, we will continue to investigate further.
