    Hi,

The CSS features work really well until you have a large number of similar (but different sized) tables, when the custom CSS file can get very large.

It would be really useful to be able to apply user defined classes to each cell – e.g. <td class=”Total”> <td Class=”Tax Code”> etc. so that I only need one entry in the CSS. As these types of cell fall into different row/column numbers across each table I end up having to put in enormous amounts of CSS (currently over 1000 lines) which is getting hard to manage.

    Thanks

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

I see what you mean, but unfortunately, I don’t really have a solution for this yet. Adding CSS classes to individual cells would need a good and easy way to add those classes, and I just don’t see a nice way for that yet, that doesn’t clutter the edit interface. ??
If those different tables can be grouped in different types, you could maybe shorten the CSS with an “Extra CSS class” on the table?

Thanks Tobias – I’ve tried to make the CSS as compact as possible, but can’t go much further.

I take your point about the clutter, but maybe a check box could be clicked to reveal / hide an extra CSS class row above each row in the editor ? Just a thought.

    Cheers

    HI Ian,

I have thought about this, but another checkbox really is not a good solution here. Not only will performance suffer more (because the browser has to (potentially) handle thousands of extra checkboxes), but this is also bad from a usability point of view for users.
So, unfortunately, I don’t have a good solution here at the moment ?? Sorry.

    Regards,
    Tobias
