I’ve tested these plugins and it seems to be that they have no impact on the load time but other backend plugins could have an impact, i can’t generalize it.

As for the categories, it should be possible to use the rules, if the permalinks are activated in wordpress. Then the name of the category should be enough as a rule.

So if If I understand correctly, When I chooose to apply a rule to https://www.example.com/category/, every page starting with that url is treated the same way?

No sorry it was not clearly understandable.

If you use https:// or https:// at the beginning of your rule, the plugin are looking for exact matching urls.

So https://www.example.com/category/ will only match the url https://www.example.com/category/

If you want to match all urls starting with https://www.example.com/category/ you can use category as a rule or example.com/category/ or www.example.com/category/
