• Hi We are building a website that is purely a news agregation site. However we are wanting to use a desktop type theme for this part. If we use Appressor and submit to the app stores, how do we pass the news from desktop theme/site to appressor theme since the settings in appresor are looking to have the appresor theme enabled? Can we have a desktop theme enabled, but still use the appressor theme for mobile?

If so, what will be the best way to do this?

    Hi Ciaran,

While we definitely encourage using AppTheme for the chosen AppPresser theme, because it has a lot of hooks and code that ensure compatibility with the rest of our extensions as well as being designed to have a lot of app-like functionality, we don’t FORCE you to use it.

So you can technically use whatever theme you wish for your app.

Regarding content, we use PhoneGap for the actual app that you submit to stores and have users download. The PhoneGap files will actually connect to your website and display the files/content almost like it was a browser, however it’ll also be able to interact with your phone’s content and hardware, making it a “super browser” of sorts. The app will use your chosen theme, and not your desktop/laptop’s theme, assuming you chose a different one. Pushing out content to your users/app will be just as easy as publishing a post and creating a link to it. Nothing new to learn there!

Hopefully that answers your questions, but let me know if you have any others or I missed any.
