Approval for comments via email

Blog is horribly spammed. When I receive an email to approve, delete or spam it, click on the link and enter user name and password, I get ‘incorrect user name or password’. So I go to reset the password. Get the new password via email. type in user name and have both typed in and copy-paste in new password but still get the incorrect password. There are almost six hundred spams on the server that I would lie to mark and delete. But WordPress will also not allow me to administer the blog. Help?
