Architect Website and Project Portfolio

  • Hi all,

    I recently finished my project with WordPress. It caters with the Architect’s Portfolio and his interaction with his clients.

    The site is in testing/demonstration phase, hence it is on the testing server.

    The Site, although relies on Flash to show the Project Listings yet it is completely made in WordPress with the pictures uploaded by the user (including the four pictures on Home Page).

    Here are the plugins that have been used in this website:-

    1. WordPress Gallery Slideshow
    2. Scissors
    3. My Category Order
    4. Breadcrumb NavXT – Core
    5. cforms
    6. All in One SEO Pack
    7. Simple CMS

    The point to list here is not to brag but to get your immense feedback :-).

    Would appreciate if you comment on anything. Preferably bad things ?? so I can furnish it more.

    The sight looks clean and professional. I think the placement of the Loomans Architecten menu should be in a more visible location. I would like to see it on the upper left aligned with the top of main gallery window box. People may not see the links below the words Loomans Architecten. Initially I did not.

    The following comments might help for backwards compatibility. I looked at the site using Internet Explorer 6. On the contact page there is a white box. When I highlight the box I see the word “CONTACT”. This is just above where it says Home >>Contact. (Same thing on the Filosofie page.)

    On the gallery window on Nieuwbouw, Verbouw and Restauratie in the upper left corner the white box comes back again. When I highlight it I see the text. For example “Woningbouw op voormalig zwembadterrein te rijnsburg” shows up as white on white.

    Regarding the gallery, initially pictures size to fill the black box. Once I click on another gallery, Verbouw, Restauratie or Nieuwbouw, the images resize smaller and justify to the upper left corner. I don’t know if this is due to the old version of Flash on this computer. I refresh and the images are still small. This means the white box with white text (as described above) obscures the image.

    The site looks great. Regarding the layout, I think the main menu should be located to a more prominent location. The rest are backwards compatibility issues.
