• Well I deleted my site. Err. I have backups but I just can’t figure out where my archived stuff is at. Can anyone help me?

  • Have you asked your host if they have any backups?

I am my own host. Do you mean my server people?

I also upgraded. I don’t know if that matters or not. I just need to know where my pages are stored and my archives. If anyone can help. I tried replacing the new files with my old ones but it didn’t work.

All your content (posts, Pages, comments, settings etc.) are NOT stored in files but in the MySQL database. If you have a backup of the database (not the WP files!!) you are safe.

EDIT. If you are your own host (meaning WP is hosted on your own computer) then who are the “server people”?

I didn’t delete MySQL database. I went though the steps and upgraded using my old database, but I still can’t get my old files.

Nevermind about the server thing. I didn’t know what to call them. I bought my domain from a company.

I still can’t get my old files.

What do you mean by “old files”? Your old posts? I just said above: posts are NOT in files.

I am sorry I didn’t mean files. I just can’t get them. My old database was there so if I just use it with the new wordpress shouldn’t I still have it there?

Now it’s saying I have an error. I did contact my host about it though.

No error anymore. All though my old posts still aren’t up.

Well I am up with my old MySQLdatabase. Is there something I am suppose to do to get the old posts back? Cause they are not showing up. Keep in mind I did upgrade (if that has anything to do with it).
