Archive links have incorrect URLs

I am trying to create an archive template in my self made theme. I am running into an issue that my <?php wp_get_archives(‘type=monthly’); ?> gives me the correct article name, but the link sends me to https://www.example.com/2013/07/ instead of https://www.example.com/june-2013/
Where can I adjust the path for the wp_get_archives php call? Or is there a better way to address this issue?
