Archive list format

  • Hi I’ve been digging around both the forums and the template-functions.php but I can’t seem to get it to work.
    What I want to do is to have my archives list as such:
    february 04
    right now it’s listing as
    February 2004
    which isn’t what I want.
    basically the month is in lowercase and the year is of the 2 digit format… I’ve managed to remove the < li > in the source of template-functions already.
    Can anybody help? Thanks…

  • I think you have to change your date format for that…
    In the admin area > Options > Other options There you can change the date format. The format you need is
    F Y

    the format there relates to the posts and not the archives, am I right?
    and Y is for yyyy(4 digit year) whereas y is for yy(2 digit year)?

    I know the archive links are formatted in wp-includes/template-functions-general.php in lines 200-300 of the code. However, I’ve tested altering several of the variables, and I can’t get the archive date format to change. If you figure it out, please let me know.
