archive of post category with widget?

  • hi there,
    i have created several different categories that post to different pages within the website i created.
    i would like to be able to have a widget that displays an archive of the category posts.
    website is here:
    https://manhattanddcouncil.info/wordpress
    (especially gallery and minutes pages…)

    how do i do this?
    does this require a special plug-in?

    i was going to use the “custom post type widget” but i thought i may be over complicating things…
