    Hi Team,

The archive page of google web stories is not formatted correctly. I have noticed it’s the same for other sites as well using the GeneratePress theme. attaching a few snapshots for your reference, please help me correctly display the archive page.
This is the design or format of web stories I wanted to create timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/hindi/web-stories and please advise a way so I can share my URL or snapshot.

Would really appreciate your quick response. Thank you in advance.

    Regards,
    Pr

  • Hi @prgroup thanks for opening a support topic. Looking at your archive page it looks as though everything is displaying as it should so can I ask you what exactly is not formatted correctly for you?

If you switched from GeneratePress theme to a default WordPress theme temporarily such as Twenty Twenty is the formatting better for you?

Could you please attach any screenshots as URLs here please as any attachments you place in the responding email won’t show here. You can use a service such as Imgur for this and share the URLs here.

Hey Adam, Thankyou for your quick response.

    here is the snap -https://imgur.com/a/KSJFyTB
My archive page looks like this and it’s always loading in grey. I’ve tried things from the internet but have not made any changes as it didn’t help.

timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/hindi/web-stories This is the design or format of web stories I wanted to create for my archive page if not all but at least it shows stories in columns and should not show the grey area.

(the email I’ve received is from the noreply, not sure if I can share the URL there?)

@prgroup Okay I understand. timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/hindi/web-stories is not your site but how you would like your archive page to show is that correct?

To help look into this further for you please could you provide your Site Health Information which you can share using our private form.

Hi Adam, just checking if you have any update.
    Thanks!

@prgroup Thanks for your patience. Looking at your setup I can see a number of plugins that could be causing a conflict. It would be good to rule this out as well as your theme you mentioned.

Could you please try and temporarily switch your site theme from GeneratePress to a default WordPress theme such as Twenty Twenty. Please let me know if when doing this you notice any difference in your Stories archive page formatting.

I can also see that you have numerous caching and performance plugins active on your site. These have been known in some cases to cause conflicts when caching or switching on particular settings such as minifying CSS and JavaScript files. Could you please try to temporarily deactivate Jetpack, WP Rocket and Rank Math SEO one at a time while checking your Stories archive page to see if you see any difference in the formatting.

Let me know if you have any questions on the above and how these steps go for you.
