With an archive page where I use a wp_production listing with paginateby=”year” and groupby=”month” I get the year 1970 in the navigation. When I select it I see all productions, even productions in the future (which don’t have events in the past). Also I see some productions under the wrong month (although this could be related).

And without selection of year (which is the default when you open the page) I see upcoming productions listed as well.

By the way, a way of defining a custom preselected pagination would be nice (for example to preselect the former season or year upon opening).

See https://www.moview.nl/programma/filmarchief/ for a live example

I changed paginateby to season, which gets rid of 1970. But without selection of a season I still see the upcoming productions, followed by a list of previous productions, stating with the oldest, likewise as with year instead of season.

What happens if you change the shortcode to:

    [wpt_productions groupby="month" paginateby="year" start="2014"]

I get empties. Weird thing is I tried an old revision where I stated start=”2014-08″ and that workes like expected. Only 2014 seems not enough.

You are right. I should have been something like 2014-01-01.

About you problem: I can only replicate it if I have events that do not have a start date. Can you check if this is the case with your install?

Yes, there was one. At least one which had 1970-01-01 00:00:00 as start date. Putting it in the wastebin helped.
