    Hi,

A couple of weeks ago, google search console told me that one of my AMP pages couldn’t be reached. It’s an archive page: https://distanceparent.org/amp/page/14/ (and 15, 16 etc). AMP loads fine for these pages on desktop but on mobile, I get a 404 error. I double checked that I have ‘archives’ checked in settings. They were working at some point and I’m not sure when they stopped working. This plugin is generating all of my AMP on the site. What else should I check?

    Thanks,
    Carrie

  • Hi, I had the same problem as you, I think the cause was in the permanent links in ”
Base of the categories “I had it in uppercase and I changed everything to lowercase, and the problem was solved, you try to see

@iniciopublicxd , I think mine might be a different issue. My category archive amp pages are working fine, and my category slugs are in lower case. It’s the paginated full list of posts that is broken for me, like the link in the OP. Thank you though!

Carrie : Can you please tell me are you enable mobile redirection option on AMP pages? If you do not enable, please turn on that option and check once whether having the same issue or not.

@ahmedkaludi , I enabled mobile redirection and tried the pages again on mobile and they still get a 404 error. I have turned that setting back off.

Can you please tell me are you using any cache plugins on your AMP pages?

    Thread Starter Carrie

    (@indigohat)

@ahmedkaludi , I am using W3 Total Cache. I purged all chaches and the AMP pages still load fine on desktop but I still get a 404 on mobile.

I’m also using WP Touch Pro for mobile – but it has AMP turned off so that AMP for WP is generating AMP.

Other AMP pages that are NOT these specific archives are loading fine on mobile. Category archives, for example are loading fine on mobile in AMP. It is only the lists of posts, in AMP only, and only on mobile that are giving me a 404 error.

Can you please tell me how you enable mobile redirection on the W3 Total Cache plugin?
For reference please follow this tutorial: https://ampforwp.com/tutorials/article/how-to-redirect-all-mobile-visitors-to-amp/#3-how-to-enable-mobile-device-caching-in-w3-total-cache

@ahmedkaludi , it is not enabled. If I enable it and leave theme at ‘pass through’ (and purge caches), it does not resolve the issue.

We checked your issue. You are using this functionality on your Non-amp page: https://prnt.sc/uvyoir
When we click on the switch to the mobile version it shows https://prnt.sc/uvyp0j in your Non-amp page.

So can you please disable this functionality and check once whether having the same issue or not?

    Thread Starter Carrie

    (@indigohat)

@ahmedkaludi , I turned that feature off. Still getting the error. To clarify, all other pages on the site, in amp, work fine on mobile, with or without that option at the bottom. The affected pages, in amp work fine on desktop. To get the 404 error, I don’t need to click anything… just open the page on mobile. So no switching between mobile or not mobile versions to reproduce.

The Non-amp page also showing 404 in the mobile version like this: https://prnt.sc/uxtfy4

@ahmedkaludi , I didn’t even notice that! I guess it must be something in the mobile plugin. Thank you so much!

    Here was the resolution :

In my mobile template, it was set to display 10 posts per page in the feed. WordPress was set to 6. So on desktop, there were 15 pages of posts and on mobile, there were 9. When Google Search Console looked for the amp version of pages 10-15, it got a 404 error. I am guessing because AMP is looking at the mobile version of the site, rather than the desktop version, and in my case, they are different, and had a different number of feed pages. I changed the mobile version to have 6 posts per page, to match the desktop version. No more 404s.
