Archive template to list author plus all article titles

  • I want to make an archive page to do something like this, with the author pic (not gravatar), name and list of linked article titles and maybe even exerpt, month and year):

    I am rebuilding the whole magazine in WP using Magazine Basic theme. I tried some things from the codex but am having trouble mashing multiple tags together to get the effect I want. Ideas?
