archive.php page not displaying 2nd page of posts

  • Got an issue with my blog’s archives. They work on the main page and display the first 10 posts and a link to Older Posts. From that page, clicking on that link takes you to a second page of posts. Fine. But doing it from a category brings up an error page. From my theme’s page I get this message:

    Error 404 – Not Found

    And so I decided to switch to the default theme. This time when I click on my categories’ second page, I get this message:

    Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.

    So that’s my dilemma. How do I solve it? .htaccess? Something with Permalink settings? Something else?
