Archives won’t show images/cropping posts before the more tag

    Hi. I’m still trying to find a blog that uses the classic header/right sidebar theme, and twenty ten seems to be the only one I can find. I’m having issues with the archive though. Images/youtube videos won’t show on archives, only when you open a post. It’s problematic as many of my posts are image heavy. Also it seems to completely disregard the [more] tag and chops off posts at about 2.5 lines long. Is there a way to fix this? If not, are there any similar themes that can give me the same classic blog layout?

  • I can confirm that Twenty Ten excludes images and embeds from archives by default. This is a known limitation of this, admittedly, very old theme. It was reported here.

    I did test with Twenty Eleven & Twenty Twelve and it looks like both themes show images and embeds correctly on archive pages. The “more” tag also works as expected.

    Both Twenty Eleven and Twenty Twelve has a classic header and right sidebar, do you think they could work for you?
