• Using WordPress 3.5.1 with New Stone theme, I have a site with links to PDF files as well as current blog postings. I want the Post page to only have the most current month’s blogs. I have figured out that archiving is no mystery: just use the widget in the theme and it does them automatically by month. However, they stay on the Post page. Do I need to remove them from that page–won’t they disappear totally?–or is there a way to make them invisible on the Post page or how do I do this? If I’m posting several times a week, it is going to make the Post page really impossible very quickly! (And I realize that I could create a PDF file but that’s not my preferred solution right now.)

It appears this was not fixable. Turns out that the Post page shows a set number on a “page” and we just rack up more pages. I did discover how to make the post show as just a few lines, with a “more” button—when first creating the post (or you can do this from ‘edit’), choose ‘gallery’ under the Format option on the right side.

Just in case any other new users stumble on to my question and wonder how I dealt with it.
