• This is one area that is giving me a headache.

Half the people I’ve talked to say that ads right below the post title are fine. The other half say it’s a violation of Adsense policies since the ad is below a “misleading label,” that label being the post title (i.e., the post title is a label for content, yet what is right below the post title is indeed an ad not content).

I have no idea who is right or wrong. Google’s own policy is not clear and could be argued ad infinitum. I do know that many popular sites place ads below their post titles.

And I do know that the Publisher plugin marks that area as a recommended area for my ads.

So, am I ok to place ads there or not? If I need to add a label of “Sponsored” above the ad so as to make it clearer that it is an ad and not the beginning of the content of the post, how do I do that from a coding standpoint?

    Thanks.

  • You certainly are allowed to place ads there.
If the Google plugin lets you, you’re fine to do it.
You cannot place an ad where a fly-over or drop down menu covers it and it might be accidentally clicked.
No more than 3 block ads. (3 Additional Google Link ads are ok to have as well)
You can also have ads from other vendors like ‘Clixgalore’,’Adstream’, ‘Clickbank’, etc.

    Hope this helps
