I use NextGEN gallery and wondered about the purpose of the backup files in the Gallery Folders in File Manager. I deleted them from one gallery as a test and it seems to be still working. I am running out of space and need all I can get. Is there any reason to leave them there that I am missing? My whole website is backed up on a regular basis.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @fredda-g,

The main purpose of the backup files within NextGen is to have a rollback option just in case of the need to resize the thumbnails or lightbox images bigger, undo a watermark or in case of Pro with ecommerce – to provide with the high quality prints or digital downloads.

You can turn the backup images off from "NextGen Gallery -> Other Options -> Image Options -> Backup the original images" if none of the above would really interfere with your workflow.
