Hi all, When I first experimented with WordPress a few years ago Child Themes were the recommended best practice when customizing your site. Is this still the case or do Custom CSS plugins negate the need for them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

If you are going to change code in a theme’s files, then use a child theme. If not, then you don’t need a child theme.

A Custom CSS plugin is a really handy way to change a site’s appearance without having to edit the theme itself, but it’s only a solution for CSS changes.

So if you want to alter any HTML or PHP code, you’ll still need that child theme.
